Builderscale/PlanReader®:

The Patented line of Builderscale™-PlanReader® blades and Tough Grade® Pro tape measures were developed by a General Contractor/Custom Home Builder engaged in the construction industry for over 20 years.

After spending many days in the field involved in all aspects of construction, he realized a need for a simple and convenient way to read construction blue prints at various job sites. There were many errors by the subcontractors who would admit that they had a difficult time converting the markings on standard tape measures to the correct measurements. They would "guesstimate" the actual number. Homeowners also had a difficult time using architect rulers and dealing with tape measure conversions.

Initially, the original award winning PlanReader® (Building Products Magazine MVP AWARD - 2004, Pro-Sales Magazine 2004 Product Pick, Tools of the Trade Magazine: "Tools To Watch 2005"  and others) was a success, but there was room for improvement. After consultation and feedback from actual users, several major design changes were incorporated into the new 2007 PlanReader® units.

The newly designed Patented tape measures represent the "State of the Art" in design and functionality for the user. The ultra compact, light weight, Tough Grade® Pro design is a pleasure to hold all day. The nylon coated Tough Grade® blade has extra large numbers (approximately 30% larger then the industry leader) that are very easy to read, even in dim work areas. The over sized patented magnetic end tip is great for grabbing on to metal objects. The large tip also grabs on to other building material with ease. The Architect Scales on the back of the tape make reading residential & commercial blue prints very simple with no hassle. The design makes reading construction blueprints easier, faster ans 100% accurate.

Specifically, these tape measures incorporate on the reverse side of the tape the standard ⅛” and ¼” Architect Scale for reading commercial & residential construction plans. The ⅛” and ¼” markings represent the actual feet and inches drawn on the plans. This enables a more accurate and faster reading of architectural blue prints in the field. No more mistakes and no more converting fractional numbers to feet and inches!
